What’s coming in 2026?

Lecture at Smaklabbet

July 4, 11.00 - 11.30 PM

Väderstad, Mjölby

Smaklabbet is a food arena in Väderstad where consumers, researchers, and companies come together to test new products, learn about sustainable food choices, and be inspired by lectures and exhibitions. It is free, open to everyone, and full of inspiration for both adults and children. Smaklabbet runs from June 15 to July 12, 2026. The initiative is funded by the European Regional Development Fund together with Mjölby Municipality, Region Östergötland, and Agtech Sweden.

Lecture:

Acorns have been an important part of the human diet for thousands of years, but today the knowledge is almost forgotten. In this lecture, we explore how acorns can be used as food – from historical food traditions to practical methods for gathering, processing, and cooking them.

We will also talk about the role of the oak in the landscape and what acorns might mean in a time when we are searching for more sustainable and local ways to feed ourselves.

The lecture is free of charge. Limited seating available. Tickets will be booked through Billetto. Booking information will be available soon.

Acorn Festival

September 26, 1.00 PM - 6.00 PM

At Odla Ihop Tanto, Stockholm

In the heart of Stockholm, in Tantolunden, goBALANO! comes to life beneath the crowns of the oaks. Here, acorns are transformed into food – something to cook, taste, and share together.

During the festival, the program grows together with those who take part, with a focus on food, knowledge, and culture. It may take the form of hands-on workshops, lectures, and conversations, alongside music, performances, and community.

goBALANO! is also an open space where others can contribute. The festival is shaped by those who participate through food, creativity, performances, and ideas.

For children, there is space to explore and create. One of the oaks becomes The Children’s Tree – a symbol of future nourishment, resilience, joy, and strength. It reminds us that what we plant, care for, and learn today is passed on to future generations.
